Our wonderful blanket creator Diane Dudfield never ceases to amaze us. Diane hand dyes and weaves all her blankets and we are lucky enough to stock them.

This beauty sold as soon as it hit the shop floor, we wish it had hung around a little longer!

Recipe number one was made by our owner Heather. A cheese ball based on her mothers 1970 favourite appetizer – the cheddar moon.

2 & 1/2 cups of grated cheddar cheese
1 tub of cream cheese
2 tbsp. finely chopped gherkins
2 tbsp. chopped capers
2 tbsp. chopped artichokes
2 tsp. Dijon mustard
1 tsp Paprika

Form into a moon ball and roll in toasted sunflower and pumpkin seeds. Serve with crackers.

Coffee Cups

Like a lot of Aucklanders, we love a good coffee and yesterday we stumbled upon this. New Zealand photographer, Henry Hargreaves, has been collecting coffee cups from all over the world now runs a blog and instagram documenting them.

Some of our favourites below. Sounds a wee bit dull but it's worth a peek!

Local: Poppy and Olive

We are quickly becoming big fans of Poppy and Olive,  a wee Auckland based brand that specialises in nut butters! Sophie, the brains behind the business, does a full market circuit each month (which you can see here)  or you can buy online. The best thing is Poppy and Olive nut butters contain only the essentials and if you drop back a jar you get 50c off your next butter!

Sophie also makes a 'chocolate hazelnut butter'.. sounds like the best nutella replacement in town to me!

Celebrating Matariki.

Last week the Pauanesia family gathered to celebrate Matariki, when the Matariki star constellation (Pleiades) appeared in the north east night sky.

We prepared a vegetarian banquet and will share some of our recipes with you soon. In the meantime some more shots from our wonderful evening.
