Dress the table.

We've been asked quite often and they are finally here, we've got napkins in stock in one of our wonderful prints! There will be more to come shortly but for now, introducing the Kohinga Beach set. Use casually for outdoor dining, or at the bach, and they're perfect to dress up the dinner table too,  the beach colourway is subtle; almost a "damask" appearance. It can add a soft lacey elegance to the table setting.

They are $59 for a set of 6, 44cm square, napkins. See them below and buy online here.

A window full of an Art Adventure.

We've just changed our window this past week to celebrate Matariki, the Maori New Year, which officially starts today with the rise of Pleidies or Matariki stars. This year we collaborated with 7 stars in their own right from Auckland's Wilson Home's Art Adventure. Each of them made a star to be displayed in our window for the month and every one is uniquely beautiful, well worth popping by to see.

Wilson Home Trust on Auckland's North Shore works for children whose disability is primarily physical. They provide a range of services and actively collaborate with the range of Health, Education and Community organisations that provide services for children with disabilities. Much of our work is achieved through Coordinators liaising directly with families to identify opportunities where the Trust can add value for them and their children.

We collaborated with Art Adventure which are weekly art classes held at The Wilson Centre. Their aim is to maximise creative opportunities in a safe and supportive environment. Art Adventure designs art projects which enable our students to maximise their individual and unique abilities. See some of our seven stars working away below.

And a sneak peek at the finished installment.

This year is Wilson Home's 75th Anniversary and along side the stars in store we are selling on behalf of the Trust their 75th Anniversary book. A very worthy cause, please email us (hello@pauanesia.co.nz) if you'd like a copy, they are $25 each.

It's June 21 so...

Southern Cross.

Our Southern Cross, Māori likened it to an anchor, and early European voyagers saw it as a cross. It is a distinctive feature of the southern night sky and we pay homage to it at Pauanesia through a variety of beautiful products.

The newest being these intricate handmade earrings by local artist, Kairava. Kairava is a German born artist who immigrated to New Zealand in 1997 and is now based in West Auckland. She is a potter aswell as a jewellery maker.

The earrings are available online here and in store.

We think the silver work is so wonderful that we are working on a new necklace design with it too, incorporating pearls. These are not yet but will soon be in store, see the sneak peak below and stay tuned!
